Why it matters

Biostatistics and epidemiological analysis determine whether your study gets published or rejected.

In medical and clinical research, good data poorly analyzed is worthless. High-impact journals demand correct methods: the right design, the appropriate statistical test, well-specified models, and rigorously interpreted results.

Health statistics (or biostatistics) translates your data into evidence: it measures associations, controls for bias, models risks, and predicts outcomes. It is the difference between a returned manuscript and an accepted article in a Q1 journal.

Epidemiological analysis identifies risk factors, measures disease frequency, and evaluates the effectiveness of public health interventions. With the correct techniques — logistic regression, survival models, spatial analysis — your study will contribute solid evidence to the field.

Who it's for

I work with those who research in health

You have clinical data and publish articles, but need to ensure the analysis is correct and impactful.

Your degree project or mandatory research requires statistical analysis and you don't know where to start.

Master's or PhD in health, epidemiology, or sciences: your thesis needs advanced statistics done right.

You lead a research group and seek expert consulting to publish in high-impact journals.

Your team conducts internal studies and wants to publish institutional articles with reliable statistical backing.

Why a biostatistician?

Benefits of hiring a biostatistics expert for your research

Hiring a biostatistics consultant ensures your study meets the standards required by scientific journals and ethics committees.

Correct design from the start

Avoid methodological errors that lead to rejection in high-impact journals.

Adequate sample size

Ensures the statistical power needed for reliable results.

Appropriate statistical tests

Correct selection based on data type, distribution, and study objectives.

Confounder control

Well-specified regression models that eliminate bias from your results.

Reviewer responses

Solid technical arguments for statistical comments from peer reviewers.

Reproducible rigor

Documented code in R, Python, STATA, or SPSS that can be verified and replicated.

Frequently asked questions

Before getting started

What are the benefits of hiring a biostatistical consultant for clinical trials?

A biostatistical consultant ensures your clinical trial is correctly designed from the start — preventing methodological errors that lead to journal rejection. Key benefits include: appropriate sample size calculation for statistical power, correct hypothesis tests for your data type, well-specified regression models that control confounders, reproducible analysis in R/Python/STATA, and expert responses to statistical reviewers' comments.

How do I get expert statistical advice for a medical study or health research project?

Contact Dr. Anillo via WhatsApp or email to describe your project. After an initial free diagnostic review, you'll receive a clear analysis plan and scope. Services cover study design, statistical analysis, data visualization, epidemiological modeling, and scientific publication support from data to Q1 journal submission.

Where can I find a biostatistician specializing in health data for Latin America?

Dr. Luis Ángel Anillo Arrieta (ORCID: 0000-0002-3136-7636, Minciencias-recognized researcher) offers remote biostatistics consulting to researchers across Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Venezuela, Argentina, Chile, and to Spanish-speaking health researchers in the United States and Canada. Proficient in R, Python, SPSS, STATA, and Statgraphics.

Can you help if I already have my data collected?

Yes. I work both from study design and with already-collected datasets. I review data quality and propose the most appropriate analysis.

Which statistical software do you use?

Depending on your needs: R, SPSS, Python, STATA, or Statgraphics. I deliver reproducible results and, if you wish, fully documented code.

Do you work with researchers in the United States or Canada?

Yes. I work fully remotely with Spanish-speaking health researchers in the United States and Canada. Communication is via WhatsApp or video call and all deliverables are digital.

What types of health data can you analyze?

I work with data from clinical trials, population health surveys, electronic patient records, administrative databases, public health data, and geospatial disease data. Tell me your specific case and we will define the best statistical approach together.
